CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - Saturday, November 10,2007 - 7:15 pm - City of
Chattanooga Firefighters with Engine 15 and Hamilton County medics rushed to
the scene of a crash on North Moore Road near Brainerd High School. When
crews arrived on the scene they reported a power pole broken in half and
laying in the roadway. Rescuers also reported a pickup truck with rather
heavy front end damage. It was unclear if the driver was injured, mainly due
to the fact that the man was believed to have been intoxicated. Witnesses at
the scene said the man was so drunk he could not even walk.
The was loaded into an ambulance and
transported to Erlanger Medical Center. Moore Road was shut down to traffic
for over an hour while crews clear the wreckage and moved the power line. On
an note, witnesses said this pickup truck struck another vehicle in the
Brainerd Village Parking lot a short time before this crash. City of
Chattanooga Police Officers are investigating the situation and charge are
pending.
