I-75 CRASH SERIOUSLY INJURES TWO PEOPLE IN DALTON

Sunday, February 20,2005 - 12:45 am - Emergency workers with the Whitfield County Fire and Rescue were called to an accident on I-75 Northbound near the 338 Mile Marker in Dalton, Georgia.

When rescuers arrived on the scene they found three vehicles, two pickup trucks and a car, with heavy damage. One of the victims , a man that was in the red pickup truck, was said to be in extremely serious condition. He was transported to a Dalton hospital by ambulance.

Another victim that was said to have been driving an older model Camaro was found on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-75. Witnesses said he crawled out of his car after the crash and ran across the median. EMS crews rush him to a nearby hospital with was was believed to also be very serious injuries.

A witness at the scene said that the wreck occurred when the red pickup truck was headed north on I-75 struck an older, abandon pickup truck that was parked on the left shoulder. Then several minutes later the Camaro was said to have struck the red pickup truck.
