HOLE IN THE ROAD CLOSES BUSY STREET NEAR ERLANGER HOSPITAL Thursday, March 24,2004 - 7:00 pm - Erlanger security Guards closed the roadway that runs past the emergency room at Erlanger Medical Center, due to a sink hole that had opened up.
After the road was closed officials could get a closer look, and it quickly became evident how bad the sink hole was. Roughly 15 feet of ground under the roadway had been washed away.
Erlanger Security did say that the road would remain closed for as long as it took to fix the problem. One worker that was on the scene said it could possibly take a day or two, to fill in the hole.
Luckily the hole was discovered before anybody got hurt, but the sink hole was easily large enough to swallow a vehicle. Story and photos by Bill Carson
