LATE NIGHT CRASH ON SHOAL CREEK ROAD TURNS FATAL AFTER A YOUNG LADY IS EJECTED

Tuesday, September 20,2005 - 9:45 pm - Signal Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to a rollover accident on Shoal Creek Road, just off of Signal Mountain Blvd. When rescuers arrived on the scene they found an overturned SUV in the middle of the road, and a young lady lying on the ground nearby.

Emergency crews immediately started first aid on the lady and quickly moved her to an ambulance. She was transported by ambulance to Erlanger Medical Center in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries.

A witness at the scene said that there was another crash less then an hour before this one within a hundred yards of this one. The witness also said that people frequently travel entirely to fast on this road. The witness did say that he did not know if this one was caused by speed, but in the past several have.

The young woman was identified as, 17 year old, Natalie Sitton of 1607 Devlan Forest Lane. Natalie was a student at Red Bank High School.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol was called to the scene to investigate the accident. Shoal Creek Road was finally reopened the next morning.
